Cilia presence correlates with Hh signaling capacity in human prostate mesenchymal cells. Human prostate myofibroblast (WPMY-1) cells were plated at subconfluence and grown in high (A) or low (B) serum conditions for 48 hrs. Nuclei are stained with DAPI (blue), cilia and microtubules are stained with anti-acetylated tubulin (green). (C) WPMY-1 cells were plated at confluence in low serum media +/- 1 nM Shh peptide, +/- 10 μM cyclopamine for 48 hrs.
