  2. *All values are means ± SD. The lacto-series ganglioside assay was based on lipid extracts corresponding to 5 mg of tissue that were assayed by TLC-immunostaining. Detection limits were as follows: 3'-LM1, 0.04 nmol/g tissue; 3'-isoLM1, 0.04 nmol/g tissue.
  3. Four samples were in each group for the cerebellum assay and the cortex assay. Two samples were in each group from different parental pairs for the fetal brain assay.
