  1. Fifteen synchronized two-celled eggs from the egg sac or the cyst were examined daily in water. Data are mean ± s.d. hours after the two-cell stage. Numbers in parentheses indicate number of animals observed at that specific stage out of the fifteen. For some animals, observation of the specific stage was missed. The J2 stage was assessed by the presence of a fully formed stylet. No statistically significant differences were found between treatments
