crp functions autonomously in tracheal terminal cells. UAS-crp transgenes that express the WT Cropped protein (A, B, E, F, I, and J) or DN-Cropped (C, D, G, H, K, and L) were expressed in the tracheal system by btl-Gal4 (A-D), terminal cells by bs-Gal4 (E-H), or muscles by MHC-Gal4 (I-L). The photomicrographs show DB and LG branches in third-instar larvae visualized under DIC optics. The insets show the terminal branches at higher magnification. The scale bar = 50 μm.
