Subcircuit Map: A relational model that postulates how signaling events likely propagate during SMG development; a conceptionally simple subcircuit for subsequent kinetic modeling (see Additional file 1and text) that is experimentally constrained and computationally accessible. This subcircuit is composed of 5 signaling pathways that are both critical to SMG ontogeny and share post-activation downstream targets.
