Early coronary vessel development in Tie2Cre+/-Srff/fembryos appears normal compared to wild-type littermates. Photographs of whole-mount immunostained wild-type (A, C) and Tie2Cre+/-Srff/f(B, D) hearts. Samples were stained with the endothelial cell marker PECAM-1 to detect vascular structures. Vessels on ventral (A, B) and dorsal (C, D) heart surfaces were clearly visible, indicating apparently normal assembly of initial coronary vasculature. LV = left ventricle.
