Shh mRNA levels are slightly decreased in the retinae of E16.5 PAX77+/+ embryos compared to the wild-types. mRNA levels of potential targets of Pax6 in the retina of E14.5 or E16.5 PAX77+/+ embryos, relative to wild-type, determined by real time quantitative RT-PCR and normalised against GAPDH mRNA levels (n = 3 to 6). P values were given by Student's t-test.
