(C, E, G) Pitx2 is expressed in the musculature of wild type forelimbs (arrowheads) as evident from its co-expression with myosin. (D, F, H) PITX2 is over-expressed in the anterior mesenchyme reaching from the humerus to the distal part of radius (arrows).
