In vivo , cell death in Necdin mutant developing DRGs is not dependent on P75NTR. (A-C) DRG sensory neurons at E13.5 on a transverse section are double-labelled with p75NTR mRNA and Islet1/2 (A), or with Necdin (B) or with Runx3 antibodies, a marker of proprioceptive sensory neurons (C). In each case, colabelling reveal a partial co-expression. (D) Quantification of the number of p75NTR-positive cells in mutant compared to the wild type at distinct developmental stage. Shown are the box-plots describing the numbers of p75-expressing cells per square millimetre at E13.5 and E15.5, and statistical comparisons were made using the Mann-Whitney test.
