  1. Consensus binding site sequences [6, 19–24] for six transcription factors (TFs) expressed in the developing A. aegypti antenna are noted. Numerous consensus binding sites (# Flanking Sites) for these transcription factors were found in the 1 kB 5’ flanking sequences upstream of the open reading frame (ORF) of the 115 annotated A. aegypti OR genes [15]. Of these, Sim was observed to have at least one binding site in over half of the OR genes, suggesting it might be one of the major regulators of OR transcription in A. aegypti.
