ITGA5 is maintained despite loss of SRF expression. Cell-ECM contacts occur at FA consisting of integrin proteins. Double-label immunofluorescence images of VYS tissue from wild type (A) and SRF-null (B) embryos at E12.5. Tissues were stained for ITGA5 (green), ACTA2 (red), and DNA (blue). ACTA2 was used to monitor SRF status in mesoderm due to antibody incompatibility between anti-SRF and anti-ITGA5 antibodies.
