(A) Immunofluorescence staining with anti-OCT-3/4 antibody, demonstrating that E3.5 Emg1-/- embryos do not form the OCT-3/4-positive inner cell mass (ICM) like the wild type blastocyst, but display a similar level of OCT-3/4 expression as wild type controls. (B) Immunofluorescence staining with anti-CDX2 antibody, showing that CDX2 is weakly expressed in the blastomeres of mutant embryos as compared to Emg1+/+ blastocysts or morulae.
