  1. Exponentially growing cells were washed, ressuspended in phosphate buffer and plated over phosphate/agar 8, 5 cm diameter plates to the cell densities indicated on the table. The developmental process was inspected and the time to the stage of tight aggregates was determined. The dash indicates no aggregation was observed for over 36 h.
